I love shooting weddings as much as any photography work I do. The wedding day is SO SPECIAL and it’s a complete honor to be a part of it. Allison and Matthew (whose engagement session was was definite favorite!!) were no exception. They tied the knot at Belmont, with a fun visit to the room where they first met… you’ll notice it doesn’t quite fit with the wedding look! I loved being a part of their special day.

I asked Allison about waking up on this day, knowing that she was about to get married, and she said:

When I woke up on my wedding day I couldn’t believe it had finally come! I was so excited for the day I had been dreaming about and planning for!

Y’all, I have never cried during parent gifts like I did at this wedding… Allison gave THE most thoughtful gift to her mom. She had pictures of herself as a child, dressed up and putting on makeup at her mother’s mirror. She remade all of those same pictures as a true bride… putting on makeup in the same place, and framed all the photos together. Is that not the sweetest thing ever?

And in case you haven’t noticed the Cinderella theme at Allison’s wedding, Matthew surprised her with her very own glass slipper!

When asked about what she will remember most from the wedding day:

I will never forget how special it was having all of the people I love most in the world together for a day filled with celebration and new beginnings! Seeing friends meeting each other and two families coming together for the first time was truly the most memorable and beautiful part of the day to me.

And I’m so glad Allison loved her sweet send-off as much as I did!

My favorite wedding moment was the send-off! Seeing everyone lined up, cheering, smiling and showering us with flower petals as we made our way to a vintage car that would carry us away into our happily ever after… that’s an indescribable feeling.
